Overview
The BLX14R/B98 Instrument Wireless System with Beta 98H/C Mic from Shure includes a BLX1 bodypack transmitter, a BLX4R single-channel rackmountable receiver, and a Beta 98H/C microphone. It is designed for use with saxophones, woodwinds, and brass instruments, as well as for percussion. The system is set up for Shure's H10 frequency band and operates from 542 to 572 MHz.
The BLX4R receiver has a front-panel dual-color LED status indicator that glows green for normal levels and red when clipping for fast metering. It has both an XLR and 1/4" instrument output for connecting your instrument to a variety of equipment such as mixing boards or PA systems. The one-touch QuickScan feature automatically tunes the receiver to the clearest channel available and displays it on the front-panel LCD screen to allow you to tune the transmitter. The unit can be rackmounted with the included rackmount kit. The BLX1 is powered by two included AA batteries for up to 14 hours. The system has a 300' line-of-sight range of operation.
The Beta 98H/C mic has a 10' flexible cable as well as a gooseneck with ratcheting swivel joint that allows for a variety of placement options. Its clip is designed to clamp onto the bell of your sax, woodwind, or brass instrument, or on the rim of your percussion instrument. It can handle an SPL of up to 155 dB, making it well suited for the volume levels of most brass, woodwind, or percussion instruments.
BLX1 Bodypack Transmitter (H10: 542 - 572 MHz)
The BLX1 Bodypack Transmitter from Shure is designed for use with Shure's BLX wireless systems. It is set to the H10 frequency band and operates between 542 and 572 MHz. It has a TQG input and can be used with Shure lavalier, headset, earset and instrument microphones. With the optional WA302 adapter cable, the BLX1 can be used as a transmitter for guitar. The unit has a top panel mounted on/off switch as well as volume control for quick access while speaking or performing. The BLX1 is powered by the two included AA batteries for up to 14 hours.
BLX4R Single-Channel Wireless Rackmount Receiver (H10: 542 - 572 MHz)
The BLX4R Wireless Rackmount Receiver from Shure is a single-channel receiver set to Shure's H10 frequency band and operates between 542 to 572 MHz. It has dual antennas with microprocessor-controlled internal diversity for reduced signal interference and dropouts. The one-touch QuickScan frequency selection feature allows you to quickly locate the available frequency with the least amount of interference.
The unit features an LCD display for RF and audio level metering while its front-panel dual-color LED status indicator displays green for normal levels and red when clipping. It has an XLR output in additional to an instrument level 1/4" output. A rear-panel control provides output level. The BLX4R can be rackmounted with the included rackmount kit.
BETA-98H/C - Clip-On Condenser Microphone
The Beta 98H/C is a cardioid, mini-condenser instrumental microphone with in-line preamplifier is designed to clearly capture the sounds of today's professional horn players. The pickup pattern of the Beta 98H/C provides high gain-before-feedback and excellent rejection of unwanted noise. With a high maximum sound pressure level (SPL), the Beta 98H/C is ready to handle the demands of brass and woodwind instruments, and is a strong performer for percussion applications. The transformerless preamplifier circuitry of the Beta 98H/C improves linearity across the full frequency range. In situations where phantom power is not available, the MX1-BP battery-powered preamplifier will perform exceptionally.
The integrated gooseneck and ratcheting swivel joint of the Beta 98H/C allows for easy microphone positioning and securing. Once the position is determined, the gooseneck angle brace ensures that the Beta 98H/C will stay in place during even the most active performances.
- Legendary Shure ruggedness and reliability
- Gooseneck, ratcheting swivel joint, and gooseneck angle brace allow for optimum placement and fixed positioning
- Interchangeable microphone cartridges are available: RPM108 - Cardioid cartridge, RPM110 - Supercardioid cartridge
- Compact, lightweight construction provides a low degree of visibility
- Tailored frequency response for open, natural sound reproduction
